It seems Bizzie Boy has decided to boycott my camera. Every time I aim the lens at him he makes a silly, crazy face. Hopefully it’s just a phase along with the attitude he’s been having lately. Boys seem to be much harder to raise then girls.

My parents bought me a macro extension tube almost a year ago and I haven’t had the time to use it much. In fact, using it is a lot harder than I expected. You NEED a tripod to keep the images in focus. Since I don’t have a decent tripod it’s been hard finding images that I have been happy with. Here are a few I took over the weekend.

At the beginning of the year I decided I wouldn’t even try to commit to doing a 365 this year. After all I barely made it through two months last year. But then when I was looking at my pictures, I realized I was already taking pictures daily, well almost.
Then I also got an idea from one of the other photographers on clickinmoms.com to make a book out of your 365 pictures. So I wound up starting a 365 and posting the pictures on flickr.
Today I read a post on MomShots.com about doing a 52 week challenge and she sparked my interest when she decided to do theme collage for the week. What another great way to display the pictures and then make an album later.

This weekend we had a play date with some friends at the Americana in Glendale, we have never been and it was nice to go to someplace new. The weather was great and there was plenty of room for the kids to run around. For that reason I opted out of the shot and chase and took pictures of our friends “less mobile” daughter.

I’ve been noticing that the pictures I’ve been taking with my Canon 50mm seemed soft and out of focus. So I decided to do spend the week doing some testing to determine if it’s me, the lens or my ever moving subjects causing the problems. I did some research online and uncovered some tools to help me with focus.

We were stuck indoors most of the weekend so we had some friends over with their kids. I love having people over now that we have a bigger place. In the condo we hardly ever invited anyone over. Now there is plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults to hangout.
